wild African honey is unfiltered, unpasturized, and contains all
its natural vitamins, minerals and amino acids to nourish the skin
and the hair. Honey is a natural humectant and therefore has the
ability to attract and retain moisture. The natural hydrating properties
of honey make it ideal for use in moisturizing products. Our wild
honey is also suitable for sensitive skin products since it is natural
and non-irritating. Honey also has significant natural antioxidant
properties. Recent articles have revealed honey's effectiveness
as an antimicrobial agent that inhibit the growth of certain bacteria.
Honey is antimicrobial for several reasons, including its high sugar
content, which limits the amount of water available to bacteria
for growth; its relatively high acidity (low pH); and its low protein
content, which deprives bacteria of nitrogen needed for growth.
The presence of hydrogen peroxide and antioxidants in honey also
inhibit bacterial growth. African wild honey is very unique and
