Shea Butter and African Black Soap

Our cocoa beans are produced on cocao trees that have been planted under existing trees. In addition to being shade grown, our beans are also organically produced, without the addition of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. The photo above shows a mature cocao tree with ripe pods. Cocoa pods are thick-rinded fruit that vary in size and color. Most are about 20 cm (8 in) long. Unlike most fruits, cocoa pods grow directly on the trunk and main branches of the tree. Pods of various stage of development can be seen on any individual tree.
